Biographical information is minor, with certificates from Gordon's confirmation and involvement in the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Correspondence includes letters written while a student at Davidson, information on a cachet he designed for the Post Office for National Air Mail week and on commemorative stamps. Manuscripts are papers Horton wrote while at Davidson. Sketches are numerous sketch books. Photographs are of Gordon as a child and adult, his mother, and their homes and buildings, including the Horton Gallery. Printed material includes a scrapbook and newspaper articles. Memorabilia includes a baby book and a funeral registry for Gordon Horton; a book containing financial records (1871-1872); and a currency collection and gift box belonging to Mrs. Horton, with a collection of papers from her Bible. Estate information includes photographs of artwork, art objects and furniture owned by Davidson College. Oversize folder contains Gordon's Davidson College diploma, a charcoal sketch of Gordon, and printed material about family members. Fuller was born in Mass. on Aug. 13, 1787. He moved to N.Y. (State) where he served as a member of the N.Y. Assembly and Senate. In 1837 he moved to Adrian (Mich.), where he served as a Representative from Lenawee County and Speaker of the House, 1841. Fuller also served as Assist. Postmaster under Pres. Harrison. Gordon Clift Horton was born in 1918. He graduated from Davidson College in 1942 and attended Parson's School of Interior Design. He became widely known in the field of Interior Design before his death in 1963. In 1975 his mother, Mrs. Florence Horton, died, willing her estate to Davidson College.
